Felt is made from different fibers, Wool is used to manufacture
Wool Felt, we use 100 % wool which is a natural fiber, it can be
pure or blended with other fiber like cotton to make cotton felt ,
synthetic fiber like polyester is used to manufacture
polyester felt
, many other fibers are used.
Wool Felt is made in all
Colours , Natural wool color is off white cream colour, grey felt and
Black felt.
We manufacture Wool felt in different hardness like soft , medium , hard felt
and extra hard or heavy-duty felt . Felt thickness is measured in various units like millimeter - mm , centimeter
and inch - ". Thickness of felt starts from 1 mm to 30 mm and more. In inch, common thickness of thick felt are 1/8" , 1/4", 3/8", 1/2"
, 3/4" and 1 inch.
Shapes
Wool Felt is first made in felt sheet which has average length
of 4 to 7 meters , higher length can also be made and width 1.5 to 2 meters. These felt sheet can be
rolled into felt roll or can be cut in required width to make felt strip and
felt tape. Other shapes like square
or rectangular piece in shape of
felt board , tile which are used as felt panel. In round shape to make felt circles and
plate. Small die cut felt plug and wool felt ring are also cut. Wool
Felt can also be turned in rope or felt cord like shape.
Endless Felt are tubular shaped felt pipe which is mounted on
rollers and pipe and also used as felt belt.
We manufacture felt in many grades and use different process to manufacture. Industrial felt is used in engineering units as engineering felt. Wool felt made by pressing process is called Pressed felt where wool fibers are compressed under heavy pressure to make compressed felt. Technical felt are precision grade felt made as per IS 1719 specification used for different mechanical applications. Other manufacturing process are needle punch and woven felt. Wool felt fabric is a felt cloth , where felting finish is done on it.
